The Assistant CAD Designer will have a creative outlook and be responsible for the design and production of original art, re-colorizations and repeats for seasonal pattern, print development, for the lifestyle brands product lines.
•Work with the Senior Cad Designer and design partners to review pattern color trend direction and interpret into artwork appropriate for the brand.
•Creating prints and yarn dyes through original work or importing purchased files, cleaning and placing prints into production size repeats.
•Releasing artwork to vendors for development with clear and concise information for production.
•Responsible for creating original artwork, consisting of color and texture, that is technically ready for design production as well as for visual presentations.
•Develop pattern repeats and produce alternate color ways for developed prints and yarn dyes.
•Provide production ready artwork, in both print and electronic format, for internal and external partners.
•Collaborate with Design on the visualization, presentation, and communication of pattern concepts through CAD artwork.
•Maintain library of seasonal patterns and prints.
•Organize and prioritize multiple projects to meet established deadlines.
•Research and share current trends, colors, styles and design technologies via shopping trips, studio visits, and online research.
•Submit final artworks for legal approval
•Bachelor’s Degree; focus in Fine Art/Fibers/ Textiles/Surface Design
•Experienced in apparel Print & Pattern Design with a strong sense of process from conceptualization to finished brand appropriate designs
•Must be able to design original prints or interpret an inspiration or purchased prints
•Knowledge of repeat patterns, textile printing, placed and engineered prints and motifs
•Strong sense of color for the creation of color ways and the ability to match colors accurately
•Knowledge of Kaledo, Adobe Illustrator & PhotoShop required
•Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail
•Strong creative ability and color sense
•Self-starter, can work independently with minimal supervision
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment
•Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with design and product teams
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
•Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
•Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
•Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
•Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
•Ability to reach at or below shoulder level
•Ability to carry equipment, move boxes/samples, etc.
